Ever think of having great bak kut teh outside Klang? I have found one in Puchong. The shop, which located in Kampung Baharu Puchong, opposite Puchong Utama serves bak kut teh with quality that can compete with those found in Teluk Pulai, Klang (as far as I know, haha).
The shop serves both the dried and soup bak kut teh. I like the soup served here because it tastes ligter. However the meat is a bit chewy, but still not too bad.
The dried bak kut teh is more popular here. Served in darkish colour, with the mix of lady fingers, dried chilli, dried shrimp and dried cuttle fish (which I can see) is really scrumptuous. The uniqueness of this cuisine is it doesn't taste like the traditional bak kut teh. It tastes a bit spicy amid the tangy smell of dried cuttle fish and dried shrimp. The meat is more tender compare to the soup version and is cooked very well with it's gravy. The mix of lady fingers makes the cuisine become a bit sticky.
One thing that I would like to highlight here is the rice. It has a gentle pandan smell, very puffy and not too oily. The fragrance aroma from the rice is really tempting.
I visited the shop last friday at around 8.30pm. Fortunately I reached earlier because the restaurant has been running out of its bak kut teh at about 9pm.
